Comercio electronico en China RPC

Un suceso Search de primer Orden: Yahoo! vs. Baidu. El periodico Wall Street Journal informa:

BEIJING—Chinese online search provider Baidu Inc. will transfer merchants from its Youa e-commerce service to e-commerce website Yaodian100.com and to a website run by Baidu’s joint venture with Japan’s Rakuten Inc., called Rakuten China, Baidu spokeswoman Betty Tian said Thursday.

Merchants will have one month to transfer to the other websites, as Baidu adjusts its business model to combine e-commerce with search engine services, she said.

The move comes as Baidu, China’s biggest search engine by revenue, continues to look for new ways to fuel growth beyond its normal web search services.

Baidu will also launch a new e-commerce product, Ms. Tian said, but declined to describe the product or give a time frame.

Baidu in November announced an investment in the operator of Yaodian100.com, whose Chinese name translates as Liudu Trades Shanghai Co., she said, declining to give the investment amount.
